Pulzna stimulacija pri pacientih z Alzheimerjevo boleznijo
Transkranialna pulzna stimulacija (TPS®) je terapevtska možnost, odobrena leta 2018, ki se uporablja pri bolnikih z blago do zmerno Alzheimerjevo boleznijo. Cilj TPS® je s stimulacijo različnih predelov možganov spodbujati kognitivne sposobnosti klientov z Alzheimerjevo boleznijo in ohranjati te sposobnosti čim dlje.
TPS® terapije se izvajajo ambulantno ter so nekompleksne in varne. Bolniki in njihove družine poročajo, da je terapija povzročila izboljšane verbalne sposobnosti, boljši spomin in izboljšan občutek za smer.
TPS® terapijo izvaja ustrezno usposobljen izvajalec s posebno napravo – Neurolith® sistemom. To je razvil švicarski proizvajalec medicinske tehnologije STORZ MEDICAL, katerega izdelki se ne uporabljajo samo v nevrologiji, temveč tudi na drugih področjih, vključno z urologijo, ortopedijo in kardiologijo.
Od odobritve TPS® je bilo izvedenih že nekaj tisoč tretmajev. Poleg Nemčije, Avstrije in Švice je TPS® zdaj na voljo tudi v Angliji, Franciji, Španiji, na Danskem, Portugalskem, v Kuvajtu, Hong Kongu, na Kitajskem in v Kanadi.
